Dr Nkgapele qualified as a medical doctor at the Medical University of South Africa.

She subsequently worked at several hospitals, including working as a dermatology medical officer at Pietersburg hospital under the supervision of Dr AR Sema and Dr T Amha.

She studied as a dermatology registrar at the University of the Witwatersrand under the supervision of Professor Schulz and Professor Modi, and obtained the Fc Derm(SA) degree.

Working as a dermatology registrar at Charlotte Maxeke, Chris Hani Baragwanath and Helen Joseph hospitals equipped her with vast experience in skin diseases of all skin types.

She is a registered dermatologist in South Africa. She worked as a consultant dermatologist at Pietersburg hospital.

She treats diseases of the skin, hair and nails in patients of all age groups, from infants to the elderly.

Some of the conditions treated include: acne, eczema, psoriasis, melasma, skin cancers, warts, skin infections and skin diseases caused by HIV.
